Drum Set Technique/History of the U.S. Beat DVD (Two Discs).

I have found this to one of the best drum DVD's I have bought. This DVD is great and worth every penny. Steve Smith is a great drummer.

He takes you through a number of concepts. I found his insights into the drum pulse to be very enlightening and how by using the 3 over 2 polyrhythm you can build in a swing pulse. I have been doing this for over 6 months now I can vouch for that.

I also loved the History of the US Beat. I loved the way he showed how the beat developed. I am a big fan of the James Brown drummers so I loved the explanation of how to play "Sex Machine"

Lastly, in the extra section there is a 5 minutes of Steve playing a solo on a hi-hat, it is just great and just shows what hard work and dedication can help you achieve.

So in summary a fantastic DVD that you really should own and will provide you with hours of practice material and great drum ideas for you to explore and develop yourself.
